Raw Vegan Chinese Hot N Sour Soup

I just made up this recipe. If you have cold you will love its soothing feel.


Ingredients(Measurements)

  1. Carrot – 1/2 Cup shredded (Use a Mandoline to get noodle like texture if you have one)
  2. Cabbage-1/2 Cup shredded(Use a Mandoline to get noodle like texture if you have one)
  3. Mushrooms – 1 Cup sliced long and thin.
  4. Chives-10 stems
  5. Red Onion – 1/2 (Optional)
  6. Soy sauce-1 Tbsp
  7. Rice Vinegar – 2 tsp
  8. Fresh/Frozen Corn – 2 Tbsp
  9. Fresh Ginger – about 2 cm in length
  10. Red Dried Chili -1
  11. Oil-1 Tbsp (Sesame oil preferably)
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Raw Sugar-1/4 tsp
  14. Black Pepper Freshly Ground – A Pinch
  15. Warm water – 1 bowl

Preparation

Blend all except chives,carrots,cabbage and mushrooms. Pour into 2 bowls and add chives,carrots,cabbage and mushrooms. Serve hot !.

Optionally add any sea vegetable you like as garnish.

Variations : Am going to try with radish this time. Let me know if you try any other vegetable and it tastes super good.

Tomato Sea Veggie Soup

Sea vegetables are superfoods. Soil of mother earth is being de-nutritioned by our practices. Luckily ocean remains untouched to an extent and provides extremely nutritious superfoods in the form of sea vegetables. The contents of minerals in sea water are very close to the contents of minerals of human blood.

The smell of these is gross for many. There are ways to get around it. Our recipes will show you how.

Ingredients(Measurements) :

1. 2 Tomatoes
2. 1 Tbsp Coconut butter
3. 1 Tsp Grated Ginger
4. 1 Clove Garlic
5. 1 Tsp Cumin Seeds
6. 1 Tsp Coriander Seeds
7. Pinch of Turmeric
8. Salt to taste.
9. 2 Strips of Kombu or any equivalent quantity.
10. 1/2 Soup Bowl hot water.

Preparation:

1. Break/Cut sea vegetable into small thin pieces and soak them for 15 minutes. If you do not like the smell of sea vegetables soak them longer in the refrigerator for few hours. On top of that , this recipe magically hides the smell totally.
2. Pour all ingredients into Blender except sea vegetables.
2. Pour the soaked sea vegetable along with water into the blender and keep a low speed. You do not want to puree the sea vegetables. It should only get finely chopped.

Raw Kale Soup

Ingredients:
1. 1 Bunch Kale leaves
2. 1/4 Avocado
3. 1/4 Lemon peeled
4. 1 Roma Tomato
5. 2 cloves Garlic
7. 2 cups water lukewarm
8. Salt to taste

Preparation:
Blend all the ingredients with hot water to get desired consistency.

Serves:2 small bowls.

Raw Hot N Spicy Bell Pepper Soup

Am so happy to invent this recipe. We were feeling feverish and flu like symptoms and having this soup during the night was so much soothing and cleansing !!

Ingredients:

1. 1 Red/Yellow/Orange Bell pepper
2. 1 Tomato
3. Little piece of Ginger
4. 2 cloves Garlic
5. 2 Tsp Coconut butter
6. Salt to taste
7. 1/2 Tsp Cumin powder

Preparation:
Blend all the ingredients with hot water.Keep a thick consistency.

Serves:2 small bowls.

Raw Hot Tomato Soup

Ingredients:
1. 1 Tomato
2. 1/4 Avacado
3. 1 stalk celery heart
4. 1 clove gralic
5. Little piece of Ginger
6. 1 tsp Coriander seeds ( You can use freshly ground powder too)
7. 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds ( You can use freshly ground powder too)
8. Salt to taste
9. 2 Tsp Coconut butter

Preparation:
Blend all the ingredients with hot water.Keep a thick consistency.

Serves:2 small bowls.

Healing Barley Soup

Am so happy to invent this recipe. We were feeling feverish and flu like symptoms and having this soup during the night was so much soothing and cleansing !!

Ingredients:

1. 1/2 Cup Steamed and nicely cooked Barley
2. 2 Tsp Coconut Butter
3. 1 Tsp fresh coriander seeds ( This is very important ingredient. Coriander powder will also do, but fresh seeds make a LOT of difference !!!)
4. Pinch of turmeric powder.
5. Salt to taste.
6. 1 Tbsp chopped broccoli florets for garnish (Optional)

Preparation:
Blend all the ingredients with hot water.Keep a thick consistency.Optionally dress with broccoli.

Serves:2 small bowls.

Hot and Spicy Raw Soup

Ingredients:

1. 2 tsp Olive oil
2. 1/2 tsp Fennel seeds
3. 2 Garlic cloves with peel
4. 1 Tomato
5. 5 big Basil leaves
6. 1/2 Jalapeno pepper
7. Salt to taste
8. 1/2 Zucchini
9. 1/4 Cucumber
10. 1/4 Yellow Bell pepper.

Preparation:
Blend all the ingredients with hot water.
Toss some flax oil and rosemary leaves.

Serves:2 small bowls.

Beet Cucumber Mint Soup

This soup strangely is green in color. Perhaps, because yellow beet does not have that strong color as red beet and also cucumber and mint make it look green.

Ingredients:

1. 1/2 Cucumber.
2. 2 Sprigs’ Mint leaves.
3. 1/2″ Ginger.
4. 1 small Yellow Beet.
5. Dash of Cumin powder
6. Dash of Sea salt.
8. 1 cup hot water.
9. 1 tsp Lemon juice.
10. A small piece of avocado(Optional)

Preparation:
Blend all the ingredients .
Toss some flax oil.

Serves:2 small bowls.

Raw Thai Soups

I love thai recipes. They are close to indian tastes, but do not make you HEAVY like indian food.
Here are some quick and super duper tasty RAW thai recipes. Serve it hot with thai rice. You can add corn, mushrooms too as a garnish !

Blend 1 young coconut meat, 1/4 young coconut water,3 big kefir leaves,2 teaspoons grated lemon grass, a little piece of ginger/galanga,1/4 jalapeno pepper, oil,salt, 3 teaspoons tamari, 1/4 cup cilantro, pinch of thai curry spice,hot water.

Blend 1 table spoon young coconut meat, 1 cup pulp from carrot juice, 4 big kefir leaves, 1/4th jalapeno pepper, oil, salt,3 teaspoons tamari, a little piece of ginger/galanga, hot water.

Quick n Healthy Raw Hot Soups

After buying Vita mix, being on raw food has become so much easier and more fun. I am so glad I finally made a decision to buy it after going raw an year back. If you are unable to decide about it, my suggestion is go for it. You will avoid much mental agony of cooked food cravings, of the tension of what to make now , where to get recipes from. You will automatically invent recipes on your own after buying and using this wonderful device, Vita Mix.

Now coming to raw soups. I use hot water. Blend all ingredients together just before eating. You don’t have to chop vegetables to put into vita mix. So it takes only max 1 minute of blending !!.

1. Pumpkin seed soup

Main Ingredient: Soaked Pumpkin seeds
Spices : Tamarind, Curry powder, Sambar powder, Garlic, Parsley, Sea Salt.

2. Beet Root Soup

Main Ingredients : Beet Root (2), Pulp from any nut milk (1/4 cup), 1 medium Tomato.
Spices : Tamarind, Garlic, Sea Salt.

3. Spinach Zucchini Pumpkin Seed Soup

Main Ingredients : 2 handful of spinach leaves, 1 small zucchini, 2 Tbsp soaked pumpkin seeds.
Spices : Salt n Pepper/few sprouts of raddish.

4. Cabbage Soup

1/4 Cabbage, 1 Tbsp Coconut Butter, 1/2″ ginger, Salt to taste.
Blend with hot water.

5. Bell Pepper Soup

1 Orange/Yellow Bell Pepper, 8 Soaked Hazelnuts, 1/2″ ginger, Salt to taste, 1 Tsp Olive oil.
Blend with hot water.
