Ingredients(Measurements)
Crust:
1. 2 cups overnight soaked almonds.
2. 5 soaked (1 hour) pitted dates.
3. 1 teaspoon salt.
Filling:
1. 2 sweet apples.
2. 1 cup raisins
3. 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
Sauce for the filling and topping:
1. 3 soaked (1 hour ) pitted dates.
2. 1 orange.
3. Water to get desired consistency of a cream.
4. Vanilla extract.
Preparation
Crust:
Blend all ingredients together. keep it coarse. When you take it out, you should be able to hold it in hand and give ‘the dough’ the shape of crust.
Apply nut butter to the botton of a pan.
Place the crust in the pan, and mould it over the pan and its sides.
Sauce:
Juice the orange. Blend with dates and few drops of vanilla extract.
Filling:
Chop the apples in tiny pieces. Or If you have a chopper/ food processor use it. But be very careful. The first time I tried it in my blender, it became a sauce !!. I do not have a food processor, so I just chop the apples with a knife.
Mix the chopped apples , raisins and cinnamon nicely. Now mix half of the sauce into this mixture.
Layer the filling on the crust. Pour sauce over the filling.
Garnish with some soaked walnuts powder and pomegrantes/cran berries. (Optional)
Serves: 5.
